Apivar strips (packet of 10 strips - Amitraz active principle)

APIVAR Apivar is an Amitraz-based veterinary medicinal product supplied in strips. Apivar is indicated for prevention and treatment against Varroa mites (Varroa jacobsoni or Varroa destructor). Apivar is a non-prescription veterinary medical product. How Apivar works. Its active principle, Amitraz, is a contact insecticide and acaricide. Its inhibits the neuronal transmission and causes neurotoxicity. Parasites are paralysed and fall down naturally. Apivar is indicated for prevention and treatment against Varroa mites (Varroa jacobsoni or Varroa destructor). How to use Apivar. Use two Apivar strips in each beehive (10 frames). Divide the double strips and place each strip between two movable frames, keeping a minimum distance corresponding to two frames between them. Stop the treatment in the breeding chamber, so that bees can use both sides of the strip. How long Apivar should be used. Leave the strips in the hive at least 42 days, then remove and dispose of them. If the strips are moved farther within the hive, they should be repositioned and left in the hive for 14 extra days before removing them. Strips should be removed after max. 56 days. Do not re-use the strips. When Apivar should be used. In spring, before bees start collecting nectar and in autumn, after the super-hives have been removed. Treat all colonies at the same time.
