DV2 semi-automatic uncapping machine, electrically-heated blades
The DV2 semi-automatic uncapping machine for Dadant honeycombs is manually fed and features automatic comb descent via motorized chains. It features horizontally oscillating serrated knives heated by electric resistors with a high-precision thermostat. It uncaps both sides of the honeycomb simultaneously. The knives are equipped with a special adjustable device that also allows for "under-wood" uncapping.
The large “DV4” uncapping machine is fully automatic and may be oversized for some professional beekeepers. This is why we designed this new lighter and cheaper simplified version, which is as sturdy and reliable as all other products of ours. The comb uncapping principle is the same as in the larger machine: same toothed stainless steel blades swinging noiselessly, same electrical heating system, same stainless steel chain comb lowering system. This machine also allows “wood” comb uncapping in case of sunken operculum. The only differences are: combs are not automatically supplied into the machine, which should be manually laid on the slide; and the bearing structure does not rest on the ground, but on a special trolley or specific supports. The DV2 is fully manufactured in laser-cut and finished stainless steel. All electrical controls are located in a user-friendly box, containing all control and safety buttons. These machines are designed to process Dadant super-hive combs, but they can be easily adapted to Langstroth combs. (art. 4351)
